About Us

Dál Riata Còmhlan brings together musicians from Amherst, Massachusetts and the surrounding hills who share a steady love for the oldest layers of Irish and Scottish music. The group leans into the sounds of the early Christian post-Roman world, shaping melodies on early pipes, carnyx, bone whistles, and the clear voice of the triangular harp. Each piece is approached with care, drawing on study, memory, and the simple joy of playing together.

Adam R Sweet is a founding member and a multi instrumentalist, guiding the ensemble with a practical hand and an ear for how old traditions can breathe in the present day. The music holds both reverence and curiosity, offering listeners something familiar in spirit yet refreshed by thoughtful interpretation.

Dál Riata Còmhlan is a Sweet Songs Records recording artist, signed on November 17, 2025.
